This year, PeopleConnect’s Community Involvement Committee planned opportunities for both our San Diego and Seattle teams to give back to our local communities. Our team members at Classmates up in Seattle, Washington, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and TreeHouse, while our San Diego People Search team worked closely with Hugs and Bags and The Salvation Army. We’re so grateful to everyone who chose to get involved with these important causes.
Habitat for Humanity is a global non-profit organization that helps families in more than 70 countries build and improve homes. There are many ways for volunteers to get involved, from opportunities in their local zip code to international missions. Over the last four decades, Habitat has helped improve more than 59 million people’s living conditions.
PeopleConnect’s Classmates volunteers had an excellent time up in Seattle installing siding on houses. Their hard work helped make a tangible difference in the lives of a family in need.
Hugs and Bags is a San Diego-based organization that serves the city’s homeless and underprivileged. Volunteers can meet monthly to provide clothing, meals, medical services, haircuts, and hygiene products. Hugs and Bags’ mission is to provide a helping hand to anyone in need to get them back on their feet.
PeopleConnect’s People Search team generously donated school supplies to Hugs and Bags' annual distribution event. With over two full boxes of donations, their contribution helped over 50 families get their children ready for the new academic year.
TreeHouse is a Washington-based nonprofit that helps youths in foster care and is the only nonprofit in the state that focuses on specific educational needs. In the 2022-2023 school year, Treehouse provided over 91,000 school supplies to foster students in need.
Classmates' participation in TreeHouse’s back-to-school drive was a big success! The generosity of our employees was overwhelming, with donations overflowing from the back of an SUV.
The Salvation Army meets local needs across America, whether it’s disaster relief, holiday giving, homeless shelters, veteran services, and more. Their mission is to assess community needs and build programs to provide immediate relief.
The People Search team joined forces with The Salvation Army for one of our quarterly events, building eight bikes to be gifted to children in need this holiday season. Donating bikes is a great way to help families in need give their kids a special gift. We even had a little friendly competition to see whose group could finish building a bike first!
By volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, TreeHouse, Hugs and Bags, and The Salvation Army, PeopleConnect’s teams have made a significant impact on our local communities. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, we've been able to make a difference in the lives of many people. When our teams give back, we're not just helping others — we’re investing in our communities’ futures. PeopleConnect is proud to support these organizations and their important missions.
