June 23rd marks an important day for women in STEM as the world celebrates International Women in Engineering Day. This annual event recognizes the incredible contributions and achievements of women in the field of engineering, while also promoting gender diversity and inclusion in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines. As part of the ongoing efforts to empower women in STEM, TruthFinder, a PeopleConnect company, has taken the initiative of launching the TruthFinder Women in STEM Scholarship. This scholarship essay contest aims to support and inspire women pursuing careers in engineering and other STEM fields. The field of engineering has traditionally been male-dominated, but in recent years, significant progress has been made in promoting gender equality. Women engineers are shattering stereotypes, demonstrating their exceptional talents, and making valuable contributions to advancements in technology and innovation.

Despite this shift, there is still the need to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields. This scholarship is intended to encourage women to pursue their passion for engineering and provide them with the necessary support to succeed.

Understanding the importance of women in STEM, TruthFinder, a trusted brand in the digital information industry, initiated the TruthFinder Women in STEM Scholarship. With a scholarship prize of $2,500, this contest is designed to assist aspiring female engineers in advancing their educational pursuits. This scholarship aims to provide financial support to deserving candidates, while also recognizing their achievements and dedication in STEM fields. As Women in Engineering Day is celebrated worldwide, it is crucial to acknowledge the progress made in promoting gender equality in STEM fields. However, there is still much work to be done to ensure equal opportunities and representation for women in engineering and other male-dominated industries. According to some studies, gender-diverse companies are 48% more likely to outperform their competitors.

Here at PeopleConnect, 37% of our employees are female– over 10% higher than the current industry average. It doesn’t stop there, our leadership team is also made up of 38% women – over 15% higher than the national average! Women in Engineering Day provides an excellent opportunity to recognize the remarkable achievements of women engineers and promote gender equality in STEM. By supporting aspiring female engineers, this scholarship contest contributes to creating a more inclusive and diverse industry, where talent and innovation thrive regardless of gender. As we celebrate Women in Engineering Day, we must continue to strive for gender equality, and support and encourage women in their pursuit of STEM careers!
